MAJOR DEPRESSIVE DISORDER
Major Depression is a common psychiatric condition, found in children, adolescents, and adults alike. Common symptoms include depressed mood most of the day, nearly every day; difficulty sleeping; appetite disturbance; decreased energy; decreased ability to enjoy activities; decreased interest and motivation; significant weight gain or loss; feelings of worthlessness; feelings of hopelessness; feelings of helplessness; diminished ability to concentrate; and recurrent thoughts of death.

ATTENTION DEFICIT HYPERACTIVITY DISORDER (ADHD)
Attention-Deficit/Hyperactivity Disorder is a common disorder of childhood, with symptoms that usually begin before the age of 7. Symptoms of the inattentive subtype of ADHD include difficulty focusing, forgetfulness, distractibility, avoidance of tasks that require sustained mental effort, losing or misplacing things, procrastination, making careless mistakes, difficulty organizing tasks and activities, and difficulty listening to others. Symptoms of the hyperactive subtype of ADHD include excessive fidgeting, physical restlessness, being overly active, excessive talking, blurting out answers before questions have been completed, intruding on others when they are busy, impatience, and leaving seat when seating is expected. In addition to these symptoms, there must be impairment experienced in at least two major areas of life, such as in academic pursuits, family life, or leisure activities.

GENERALIZED ANXIETY DISORDER
Generalized Anxiety Disorder, or "GAD," is a common disorder found in children, adolescents, and adults. Common symptoms include feelings of anxiety, excessive worry, irritability, feeling "on edge," sleep disturbance, being easily fatigued, muscle tension, difficulty concentrating, and difficulty controlling worry. Physical symptoms, such as headaches, digestive problems, excessive sweating, and heart palpitations are also common manifestations of anxiety.

BIPOLAR DISORDER
Bipolar Disorder (also known as Manic Depression) is a common mood disorder, found in children, adolescents, and adults. Common symptoms include abnormally elevated, expansive, or irritable mood; decreased need for sleep; talkativeness; racing thoughts; agitation; and excessive involvement in pleasurable activities, such as excessive spending, sexual indiscretions, or foolish business investments.
