Leon I. Rosenberg, MD
Psychiatrist / Medical Director
Dr. Rosenberg graduated Harvard University with Honors in Biology in 1974 and received his Medical Degree from the State University of New York–Upstate Medical Center at Syracuse in 1978. He has been working in the field of psychiatry since then, beginning with an Internship in Psychiatry at Long Island Jewish-Hillside Hospital and followed by a residency in Adult Psychiatry at the Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania from 1979 to 1981. He is Board Certified by the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology in Psychiatry, Geriatric Psychiatry, and Forensic Psychiatry, and he is Board Certified by the American Board of Addiction Medicine. He is also Board Eligible in Child Psychiatry as a result of completing a two year fellowship in Child Psychiatry at Hahnemann University Hospital in 1983.
Dr. Rosenberg has been in private practice psychiatry since 1982. He has been the President and Medical Director of the Center for Emotional Fitness since 1983. His dedication and caring manner have earned him the respect of both patients and colleagues. His treatment philosophy centers on patients’ wellbeing by educating patients to promote their own emotional fitness through an understanding of their condition. Dr. Rosenberg has been conducting clinical trials since 1995. He has been the Principal Investigator in over 125 clinical trials.
Dr Rosenberg has been doing psychiatric evaluations with Child Study Teams for many years. He is an experienced child and adolescent psychiatrist who relates well to students and their families. He has done numerous psychiatric evaluations and gives families and children a blueprint for understanding their problems and points them in the right direction for solving or ameliorating these problems.
Dr. Rosenberg has written the book, The Authoritative Guide to Psychiatric Diagnosis, a must read for patients, physicians, and all individuals involved in conducting psychiatric and CNS research studies. His expertise is often called upon for doing independent medical evaluations, forensic psychiatric evaluations and court testimony. Dr. Rosenberg has served on local and national advisory boards for many of the large pharmaceutical companies and is a sought after speaker in the area of adult and child psychiatry.
He is also the editor of two books, Buzz the Bookworm and Decisions, Decisions that teach cognitive behavioral management to children and adolescents, respectively. Finally, along with Dr. Buzz Mingin he is completing the book Parent Menu, A Step By Step Guide To Help Those with Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder, which is a guide for parents to help their children with ADHD and other disorders.
He is a member of the American Medical Association, American Psychiatric Association, Burlington County Medical Society, New Jersey Psychiatric Society, American Academy of Psychiatry and Law, Camden County Mental Health Board, and The International Society for Traumatic Stress Studies. Dr. Rosenberg oversees the care and treatment of all of the clinical trial subjects at the Center for Emotional Fitness and is directly involved with each and every clinical trial subject as well.
Frank McManus, PhD
Psychologist / Subinvestigator
Dr. McManus is a Licensed Clinical Psychologist. He graduated Magna Cum Laude from Widener University. He received his Master of Arts degree in Clinical Psychology from West Chester University and his Doctorate in Clinical Psychology from Walden University. He is also a member of MENSA. Dr. McManus has vast knowledge and experience with over 125 clinical trials.
Terri Marini, RNBC, CARN
Terri is a Licensed Professional Nurse, having licenses from NJ and Pennsylvania. She holds certifications from the American Nurses’ Association in Psychiatric/Mental Health Nursing, and from the International Nurses’ Society of Addictions. Terri has held various positions in her field. She was one of the first RNs in the State of NJ to be certified as a NJ State Screener. She coordinated emergency psychiatric services in Burlington County for many years managing the county designated crisis program. Since 2002, her focus has included the field of addiction. Terri has worked in the both the public and private sectors of care having managed opioid treatment programs, providing consultation to private medical practices, and now in clinical trials.
Hayon Kim Choe, CMA, CCRC
Director or Clinical Research
Kim is a dedicated and experienced clinical research professional. Kim received her training and certification as a Medical Assistant from the Omega Institute where she was on the Dean’s List and received numerous awards for her academic achievements. She also received her CCRC certification from the Association of Clinical Research Professionals (ACRP). Kim brings to CFEF her dedicated and caring manner and her experience with over 125 clinical trials including psychiatric and internal medicine trials. Kim manages all of the clinical trials conducted at CFEF. She also conducts in-house audits to assure adherence to protocols, GCPs, CFRs, and SOPs and develops systems, procedures and processes to improve both overall staff performance and study conduct.
Donna Rose M. Colucci, MLT, CCRC
Director of Regulatory and Financial Affairs
Donna is a highly experienced and dedicated medical professional with numerous years in clinical research. Her background also includes Medical Laboratory Technician, Medical Office Manager and IV/Nursing Department Supervisor. She received her degree in Medical Technology from the St. Agnes Medical Center-School of Medical Technology and certification as a Medical Laboratory Technician from the Philadelphia County Medical Society. Donna attended Gloucester County College for Information Systems where she was on the President's List and also received a Certificate in Management Training. Donna brings to CFEF her attention to detail and her experience with over 125 clinical trials. She received her CCRC certification from the Association of Clinical Research Professionals (ACRP). Donna handles all of the regulatory and financial documents. She also develops and updates CFEF's Standard Operating Procedures, reviews and develops systems, procedures and processes to improve both overall staff performance and study conduct, develops CFEF's detailed study specific source workbooks.
Mohini Patel, BS, CCRC
Clinical Research Coordinator
Mohini is a dedicated and detailed research professional. She received her Bachelor of Science in Biochemistry from Concordia University and her research training from American SciTech Research Institute. Mohini brings to CFEF her professional manner and attention to detail. She received her CCRC from the Society of Clinical Research Professions (SoCRA) as well as the Association of Clinical Research Professionals (ACRP) and has experience with over 25 clinical trials.
Jennifer Mellon, MST, CRC
Jennifer is a dedicated medical and research professional. She received her training and certification as a Multi-Skilled Technician from the Omega Institute. She received her research training here at CFEF. Jennifer brings to CFEF her caring manner and attention to detail. She has experience with over 75 clinical trials.
Elisabel Albizu, NCPT, NCET
Elisabel is a dedicated medical and research professional. She received her training as a Cardiology Technician and Phlebotomy Technician from the Star Career Academy and her certification from the National Center for Competency Testing . She received her research training here at CFEF. Elisabel brings to CFEF her caring manner and attention to detail.
