My mother repeatedly said the following: “be nice to everyone”; “you can be anything you want to be.” My father repeatedly said "if at first you don't succeed try, try again." This combination of "rules to live by" undoubtedly contributes to my always looking for a new project to work on. There are always new projects in the pipeline, and, at the same time I'm starting this blog, the two of my numerous and biggest projects relate to two provisional patents I filed in November 2016 related to ADHD.
One patent is regarding the inhaling of stimulants and other ADHD medication to have a rapid onset of action. The need for rapidly acting medication is especially noted in adults who only want to medicate themselves and their ADHD as needed, and as a result, may have to rely on taking their medication at the last minute, i.e. just before a meeting or just before getting into a car and driving. Therefore, a quick onset of medication is required and will be of great benefit to these adults. The way to get quick acting medication is by inhaling or insufflating of medication. Through these routes of taking medication a much lower dosage of medication can be used because the medication goes directly to the bloodstream, then the heart, and then the brain and does not first pass through the liver where 90% of the medication would have been metabolized.
The other provisional patent relates to combining already approved medication(s) and other medications and compounds for the treatment of ADHD to improve on the treatment of ADHD that is already available.
These provisional patents will take teamwork to bring to fruition. Most people work better as part of a team than they do when working individually. For me, perhaps because I am a twin, I prefer to be a team player rather work individually. Teaming up with others definitely appears to be an extremely, and genetic disposition. Perhaps that's how we were designed from the very beginning. The original reading of Chapter 1 of Genesis is that got created a four armed and four legged "man" and then, because that "man" was lonely, split the four armed and four legged "man" into two halves and we end up searching for our other half. Plato is noted to have said, “According to Greek mythology, humans were originally created with four arms, four legs and a head with two faces. Fearing their power, Zeus split them into two separate parts, condemning them to spend their lives in search of their other halves.”
This may apply to the provisional patents as we will hopefully see which compounds join with which receptor sites for the optimal activity.
That's all for now.
